Pineapple Beach, an American Blonde Ale by Funky Buddha Brewery

Pineapple Beach is an American Blonde Ale brewed by Funky Buddha Brewery, and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the ale was served in a pilsener glass from a bottle.

This blonde pours a clear gold with an inch-thick cap of white foam that leaves behind some nice lacing.

The aromatics are faint with a scent of pale malt and pineapple.

The palate is hop-forward with a taste of citrus that transitions to doughy bread and a sweet finish of juicy pineapple, spiced with pepper.a hint of pepper.

Mouthfeel is light with low carbonation for a smooth and easy drinking experience.

The Pineapple Beach is likely to a tad sweet to some, but this is an otherwise enjoyable brew.

Recommended Pairings

Funky Buddha recommends the following food pairings with their Pineapple Beach: Monterey jack or pepper jack cheese, California roll, Parmesan chicken cutlets, waffle fries, loaded nachos, grilled shrimp skewers, Neapolitan style pizza, balsamic glazed salmon, beef wellington, and peach cobbler a la mode.

About the American Blonde Ale

The American Blonde Ale is often the least complicated style offered by a brewery. As such, it’s easy to drink and approachable. It’s a refreshing brew with a clean palate that lacks any harsh or challenging flavors. It’s a preferred offering by many smaller breweries that don’t produce lagers.
