American IPA Modern Times Beer

Orderville, an American IPA by Modern Times Beer

Orderville is an American IPA brewed by Modern Times Beer, and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the ale was served in an IPA glass from a bottle.

The ale pours a somewhat cloudy gold and topped by a thick cap of rocky, white foam that shows excellent retention. Chunks of sticky lace cling to the sides while streams of fine bubbles continuously rise in the glass.

The aroma is modest with a scent of tropical fruit that’s backed by lesser notes of pine sap, grain, and booze.

The palate begins with a soft taste of cracker malt that quickly sweetens to flavors of tropical fruit. The label on the bottle promises “dank” and it’s at this point the brew delivers. The taste buds are smacked with bitter pine, resin, and spicy hops. Even a touch of citrus appears before the finish mellows slightly with pineapple.

The ale is dry and smooth. There’s a bit of stickiness to the feel but it serves the brew well. A relatively high ABV does add some warmth. Otherwise, its medium body and moderate carbonation is standard fare.

While the Mosaic hops are the hero, the palate is superbly balanced and packs a lot of flavor for a standard IPA. Orderville is one of those brews you hear yourself “oh wow” the moment you taste it. And it’s dry and biting palate makes this brew easily quaffable. So order one up. You’re sure to like it.
