Northern Hemisphere Harvest is an American IPA by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the ale was served in an IPA glass from a bottle.

Appearance

The ale pours a clear deep copper hue and is topped by a towering stack of bone white, rocky foam that shows great retention. Sticky lace clings to the sides as the head slowly recedes. Ample effervescence is visible in the glass.

Aroma

The aroma is slight but pleasant with a scent of piney hops.

Flavor

The palate has a tremendous hops presence throughout the tasting. Flavors are fruity with orange peel, apricot, and grapefruit. And they’re also herbal and piney with resin. The finish is a mellow blend of tropical fruit and caramel. Crusty bread ties the palate together.

Mouthfeel

The feel has a medium body and moderate carbonation. Its finish is dry, slightly astringent, and a touch warm from the alcohol.

Overall

Its appearance is superb and its feel is spot on. And that palate is absolutely delightful. Its malty backbone nicely balances its hoppy bite. If anything, its aroma could use more punch but that’s nitpicking. that’s so easily quaffed. Yep. The Northern Hemisphere Harvest is another fantastic IPA from Sierra Nevada.
