Mega Mix Pale Ale is an American Pale Ale brewed by MIA Beer Co., and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the ale was served in a shaker pint glass from a can.
The Pale Ale pours a cloudy marigold hue with ample sediment swirling in the glass. It’s topped by an inch-thick cap of puffy, ivory-white foam that shows fair retention.
The aroma wafts the nose with a scent of tropical fruit and pine.
The palate begins with a taste of cracker malt that bitters with a hoppy blast of grapefruit and orange. A twist of lemon and a hint of pine also appear. There’s a modest but sweet balance of pineapple picked up on the swallow.
Its feel has a smooth draw and a medium body with matching carbonation. Its finish is somewhat dry with a moderate astringency.
Its appearance is fine. The aroma is strong but fades not long after the pour. Regardless, it’s quite pleasant. The astringent feel and its hoppy palate are pure West Coast. And that amped IBU count will certainly be appreciated by the hopheads. The Mega Mix Pale Ale is an easy brew to tilt back, quite enjoyable, and is a fine representation of the style.
