Mama’s Little Yella Pils is a Czech-style Pilsener brewed by Oskar Blues Brewery, and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the lager was served in a mug from a can.
The Pils pours a mostly-clear straw and is topped by a puffy white cap of foam that shows fair retention. The reduction leaves behind some sticky lace.
The aroma consists of cracker malt along with floral and spicy hops.
The palate blends noble hops that are spicy, floral, and grassy with cracker malt, yeast, and a touch of honey.
Its feel is crisp and relatively dry with a medium-light body and moderate carbonation.
Its appearance is solid and though the aroma and palate are straightforward Pils, they’re well crafted and thoroughly enjoyable. Light and easily quaffed, Mama’s Little Yella Pils is a lovely session brew.
