Maduro Brown Ale is an English-style Brown Ale brewed by Cigar City Brewing, and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the ale was served in a nonic pint glass from a can.
The ale pours a dark brown and is topped by a thick cap of dense tan-colored foam that shows modest retention. An aggressive pour yields the best results. A thin film of residue coats the sides of the glass.
The aroma has a scent of chocolate, toffee, nut, and a hint of floral hops.
Brown bread and toffee mix with nut and sweet notes of chocolate and brown sugar. Its finish is mildly bitter with a suggestion of floral hops and coffee.
Flaked oats give its body a silky smooth feel. Its body is medium with less-than-moderate carbonation and has a slightly dry finish.
The feel is sublime. Its aroma is enticing and the palate has just enough complexity to make the session compelling and interesting. The Maduro Brown Ale is a thoroughly enjoyable brown.
