Island Time Session IPA is an American IPA brewed by Shipyard Brewing Co., and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the ale was served in a shaker pint glass from a bottle.
Pours a slightly hazy gold with a half-inch thick head of bubbly white froth that dissipates rapidly. Small patches of lace cling to the glass.
Pleasant aroma of tropical fruits—pineapple, in particular lead the nose.
Palate takes a different path, beginning with a taste of cracker malt before giving way to a big bite of grassy hops. Finishes with a lingering bite of lemon.
Mouthfeel is expectedly light, crisp, with ample carbonation. Finishes dryly.
The Island Time Session IPA delivers a satisfying bite of hops in a sessionable 4.5% ABV package. On par with other beers in its class, this is a solid, day-drinking brew.
