Green Man Porter is an English-style Porter brewed by Green Man Brewery, and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the ale was served in a nonic pint glass from a can.
The porter pours a mahogany hue that bleeds to a chestnut brown at the edges of the glass. It is topped by an inch-thick head of tan foam that persists briefly.
The aromatics are warm and inviting with chocolaty malt and roast.
Its taste follows the nose, offering a mild coffee roast, bittered gently with hops, and then finishing sweetly with chocolate.
The feel is smooth and creamy with a medium body and low carbonation.
The Green Man Porter is quite easy to tilt back and thoroughly enjoyable. And as an English Porter, it’s a wonderful representation of the style.
