Braggadocious is an American IPA brewed by Due South Brewing Co., and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the ale was served in an IPA glass from a can.
The ale pours a mostly cloudy marigold and is topped by a thick stack of rocky white foam that persists briefly. Gobs of sticky lace cling to the sides while ample effervescence visibly rises.
The aroma is quite dank with a funky scent of wet grass that’s also a touch floral.
The palate begins with a taste of cracker malt quickly leaps to a hoppy blast that’s herbal, floral, and citrusy. Finishes with a lingering bite of lemon mellowed by a flash of tropical fruit.
Its feel has a smooth draw that becomes grainy on the backend. It has a medium body and moderate carbonation. Finishes somewhat dry and astringent.
Due South has plenty of reason to brag about this brew. Both its appearance and feel are solid. Its aroma is quite pleasant. And its palate packs a lot of flavor for what is a modest 6% ABV. The flavor has more than enough bite to please the hopheads but is also balanced really nicely with its malty backbone. Braggadocious is a brew that should be on your list.
