Beyond The Galaxy is an American IPA brewed by Terrapin Beer Co., and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the ale was served in an IPA glass from a can.
The IPA pours a brilliantly clear golden hue and is topped by an inch-thick cap of puffy white foam that shows fine retention. A smattering of residue dots the sides while ample effervescence is observed rising in the glass.
The aroma is bright with a scent of piney hops and tropical fruit.
The tasting begins with a flavor of bready malt mixed with pine that transitions to a bite of citrus. The finish is mellowed out with tropical fruit and a taste of doughy bread ties the palate together.
Its feel is smooth with a medium body and a shade over moderate carbonation. The finish is dry with a mild astringency.
Its appearance and aroma are fine. The palate is nicely balanced with a clean, hoppy finish. The feel is spot on. Beyond The Galaxy isn’t a remarkable IPA but it’s a pretty good one.
Terrapin recommends the following food pairings with their Beyond the Galaxy IPA: cheddar and Colby cheeses; Thai green curry with chicken; cosmic brownies.
