6 Hop IPA is an American IPA brewed by Rogue Ales, and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the ale was served in an IPA glass from a can.

The ale pours cloudy rust orange and is topped by a generous stack of rocky white foam that shows good retention. A smattering of lace and a soapy collar remain after the reduction.

The aroma is a pleasant mix of pine and citrus hops. A note of musty grain appears as the beer warms. Sweet tropical fruit asserts itself thereafter. Just a hint of booze can be picked up. After the beer has settled all of those scents mesh really nicely.

A sextet of hops leads the palate. A mild herbal and piney hopping mixes with biscuit and transitions to a stronger bite of grapefruit and pine. That bitterness lingers into the finish and is mellowed by a sweetness of mango and peach.

Its feel is relatively smooth with a medium body and moderate carbonation. Alcohol lends a light warmth. Finishes dry and astringent.

The 6 Hop IPA presents well and has a wonderful aroma. And its biting palate is a sure pleaser for the hopheads. But its fruit and bready backbone almost keep the hops in check. Booze could be hidden better but otherwise, this brew is easily quaffed.
